September 2008

Yesterday I have an opportunity to meet Bata , Elizabeth and their kids again . Haven’t seen them for 3 years and all the kids is so much taller now.

It is not only good to see them again , but me and Bata were still talking about the pictures I took for the kids in a picnic we went back then. Specifically Ana’s pic I took for her 3 years ago, how much we liked it. This little princess could barely speak any word back in 2005 :) It is so fun to see them growing up.

Friday, I was helping Annie Siu out , shooting some of her floral settings for a corporate event. Again , San Francisco City Hall. It was great to have some more opportunities to hang out with this great floral designer. As this was not a wedding event, I got some time to chat and hangout with her,so have more time to observe her and her team works, great .

Shooting a wedding at Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay , I just never felt that I was working. In such a gorgeous location and the fresh air, shooting Vicky & Jim’s wedding was just the most pleasant thing to do.

Jim is the vice president of marketing & product of a technology company while Vicky is in banking and financial industry. The wedding ceremony and the reception were both in Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. Love Love Love this location. As Jim is a golf lover, we were all excited to have some great shot at the golf course and also the beach. Every single details of the setup and the schedule were carefully coordinated by the Ritz Carlton Hotel, beautiful wedding.

Well, how do I manage to shoot a wedding on saturday, came back home at 12:00am , and able to put all highlight pics and slideshow online on sunday noon, email me and I will tell you the secret :) my email is chung@chungliphotography.com :)

Just got back from Lindsay & Mike’s wedding in Santa Monica, LA. It was a beautiful place and it was actually a treat for me to have a little vacation at the same time. Because me and my 2nd shooter have heavy and bulk equipment , so we decided to drive from SF to LA, we got there 1 day before the wedding to get ourselves ready , also have enough time to check the wedding locations and pick portrait locations.

Lindsay is currently studying her PhD in USC , Mike is also studying in London for his graduate degree, so many their friends and relatives flew from different countries/cities to celebrate their big day.

Right after I entered Lindsay’s suite for the preparation shot, I immediate felt so welcomed as Lindsay and One of her bridesmaid, Anna ( who attended June & Greg’s wedding told me they liked my photography work a lot and was telling everyone :P . Thats why she booked me more than a year ago without even seeing me :)
It was a beautiful wedding and thanks for Lindsay and Mike trusted me so much and following me to different locations for the portrait shooting in such a hot weather. Also, specifically thanks to the awesome wedding coordinator Amber Gustafson of Amber Events , not only did she organized the whole event with great attentions to details , she also made the bride and everyone felt to comfortable . Lindsay & Mike, Happy HoneyMoon in Mexico !!!!

The following are some highlights of the wedding, as well as some of the behind the scene shots of me and my 2nd shooter . It was a Great fun road trip to Santa Monica.

I and my assistant decided to drive to LA , just because too many hassles to carry all our gear on the plane, and avoid all those security check and car rental trouble.

Santa Monica LA, here we come. Beautiful weather.

Beautiful Lindsay getting ready .

Exchanging vow.

Our awesome wedding coordinator Amber did an awesome job making sure every single details was done as planned and making everyone felt comfortable

Reception at Sheraton Delfina , Santa Monica.

I was so excited when I explored this interesting painted wall for the bridal portrait.

No flash photography while I’m driving !!

Thanks for my assistant for this shot of me and my car.

Long drive from SF to LA

Here are some gear we used for this Santa Monica wedding. Wherever we go, we always carry enough backup equipment. Nothing much, just some camera body, some lens, some flashes, and some wireless flash device.
