A few months ago, I received an engagement shoot inquiry for an overseas couple. The bride is quite a celebrity in Hong Kong, she is Dr. Connie Wong, also known as “The Pianist with Three Fingers.” She was born with only 3 complete fingers because her mother was infected with German measles during pregnancy. During her childhood, she struggled through endless operations and hardship in order to live a normal life. Even that did not stop her from pursuing after her dream – to be able to play the piano. Connie received her BS in Music from Chinese University and earned her MA and PhD from UCLA. She is one of the most inspiring person I’ve known and I truly admire her dedication.
For the shoot, we had originally planned to photograph in LA since Connie and her fiance Jack are both UCLA graduates. But since they will also travel San Francisco before they fly back Hong Kong, we finally decided to do the shooting in San Francisco. Connie had mentioned that she’d like the photos to resemble a sense of American style, so naturally Golden Gate Bridge was a top choice while I was scouting for location. We started the day early with makeup and hairstyling done at my new studio by Joey of Jbeautique.com . Then we took some photos close by my studio before heading to SF. While in SF shooting at Grace Cathedral, the weather was anything but cooperative. It was rainy and windy but Connie and Jack put on their cheerful smile for my camera and we had lots of fun joking, posing and shooting. We headed over to Fort Point to do more shooting and eventually to Mel’s Diner for a burger and shake, the perfect way to end a photo shoot.
I’m so excited about the NEW Chung Li Photography Studio, just finished installing the hardwood floor and the monorail gallery lighting. The renovation is almost done, just need some more furniture and hang up all the canvas and photos . My goal : create one of the best photography studio in San Francisco to meet and to provide the best service to my precious clients.
Our photography service and product pricing may not be the cheapest , but Chung Li Photography is all about customer service and QUALITY . Schedule a time to visit me !!
